Налоговые платежи, вносимые работодателями и самими работниками в фонд социального страхования. Эти средства, наряду с другими налоговыми поступлениями в государственный бюджет, используются для финансирования государственных пенсий, пособий и т.д. Размер платежей зависит от величины дохода работника и взимается согласно системе PAYE. Индивидуальные предприниматели платят единообразную ставку, а также взносы в зависимости от размера их заработка. См. Budget (government).
